Faith

I have always been a believer, but it wasn’t until about 14 years ago that I really understood the concept of faith, and even more recently the meaning of “Christ-like living.” My faith is the only reason I am able to continue day after day. It gives me hope, a purpose, and is something I am very proud of and take seriously. I never realized how important that would become especially being active in the health and fitness industry that is based on physical appearance along with sex appeal, materialism, and healthy egos. I wasn’t sure how my participation in this industry would fit with my faith, or even if it would fit at all. I have been very vocal about my faith and the struggles I endure while trying to live right in a society and an industry that can make all the wrong things appear enticing. I don’t impose my beliefs on others, but in an era that teaches tolerance as a way of accepting differences, I do respect them, but I also stand firm in my beliefs; my Christian beliefs, and do the best I can to live a Christ-like life by example. (And believe me when I say it is a very imperfect life). It is a daily struggle, but one that I am so proud to be a part of. I’ve learned that faith and fitness can work together. Sharing knowledge and teaching others is my gift, and fitness is my platform. I try my best to use the gifts I was blessed with to uplift and encourage others, while never losing sight of my job of being a foot soldier in God’s army!
