Most of my Sundays are pretty much the same: church, grocery store, catch up on the week’s phone calls, relax, and mentally prepare for the coming week, and maybe do some cardio if I didn’t do it on Saturday. Well I didn’t do cardio
this Saturday, so I was on it this morning! My cardio is always my "think time." I never listen to music, I just think. This seems to be one of the places where I am most creative. As I was on the elliptical this morning and having one of my "think sessions" I started ruminating on life’s priorities and perspectives on various issues. Everything always came back to health related topics. The conclusion I came to was this: in my opinion there is no such thing as a quality of life void of good health. It’s difficult to enjoy your family, children, job, friends, daily activities, and life in general if you are in poor health. (I define "poor health" as health related conditions in which you have control.) This think session inspired me to write a health segment about the importance of taking care of your mind and body. My goal is to inspire, motivate, or encourage at least one person to make a recommitment to adopt a healthy lifestyle. People make "good health" appear as an overarching goal they can never achieve. We make it far to complex. I’m all about simplicity. So lets get back to the basics because that is where it’s at!!
