"I’m tired. I have kids. I worked a double shift. I’ll start Monday. It’ll take time away from my husband/wife/kids. I’m in school. I’m working two jobs. I don’t have time…no really, I don’t. It hurts. I don’t like "healthy" food. I want to lose some weight before I go to the gym. Eating healthy is too expensive. I’ll workout from home. I don’t understand because I always eat salads"……blah, blah, blah….and on….and on…. and on…… JUST STOP!
This is my soapbox for the day because I am sick and tired of hearing why people cannot take responsibility for their own health. I must have heard 6 different reasons within 2 hours this morning, and I didn’t even ask. The people just voluntarily gave the information. Well do something about it! Oh, or would you rather wait for your doctor to tell you that you have heart disease and weight-related arthritis? Would you rather your ophthalmologist tell you your hypertension is possibly contributing to your glaucoma? Would you rather your psychologist tell you your depressive symptoms are related to your inactivity? Would you rather your dentist tell you that the abscesses in your mouth are from the early stages of diabetes? Folks, obesity related-health problems cost the U.S. over $147 billion a year. You give me the interest on that, and I’ll show you what you can do with the time you don’t have!
I have a job and responsibilities just like everyone else. And I make it happen. I may not have kids, but Jolene Carter (www.Jolenecarter.com), Charla Cormier (www.thecavemanplan.com), Jennifer Griffin, and Catherine Clark do, and they are some hot moms. They make it happen. So can you!
Put up or shut folks! It’s that simple. So tell me, what’s your excuse now? (Please feel free to add any I may have missed)
